During her time at KU, Sarah Elizabeth was active in numerous groups including Alpha Delta Pi, Sigma Gamma Tau, Tau Beta Pi, AIAA, and the KU Honors Program. She served as President of the KU Student Chapter of AIAA her junior year, and its Vice-President her senior year.
The spring semester of her sophomore year was spent studying abroad in Montpellier, France, and it was an experience she will never forget. After graduation, she worked as a Flight Test engineering intern at Cessna Aircraft Company in Wichita.
An avid basketball fan, Sarah Elizabeth never missed a home game (except while abroad, when she woke up at 3 am to watch them online) and thinks Allen Fieldhouse is one of the best places on Earth. She is also an avid reader and runner. She completed her first marathon in April 2012 and also used it as a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project, to whom she donated over $3,000.
Sarah Elizabeth is currently a graduate student at the University of Texas in Austin. She is in the Orbital Mechanics research area, and is working at the Center for Space Research. A Jayhawk at heart, she can’t quite bring herself to say “Hook ‘Em Horns”, but she enjoys being at a school with almost as much spirit as Kansas.
